Beschreibung:

Daniel records the drunken feast of Balshazzar where he defiles the vessels which had been taken from the Temple in Jerusalem and Yahweh's hand of judgement on the Babylonian Empire was used to write on the palace wall. The same night the city and Empire fell to Cyrus and the Persians.
This is where the contemporary saying of 'seeing the writing on the wall' originates.
