The invention of technicolour for film and television changed the world forever. Technicolour introduced a three-layered emulation on the film strip which gave a much more complete colour range.

Having colour in films made the audience more engaged and allowed them to connect more with the story and the world that the film creates. Today, colour television and film is just seen as normal and we don't really think about it, however when it came out it was revolutionary.

The most famous example of technicolour in film is Wizard of Oz when Dorothy enters Oz.
