Beschreibung:

A group of raiders from the Scandinavian lands landed in England for the first time, and sacked the monastery at Lindisfarne (sacked means burned it down and took their stuff). This was the beginning of the "Viking Age" in Europe. The word "Viking" is basically the same as "Pirate".... so Viking is a job description, not a people.
