The war broke out after The Holy Roman emperor tried to force Bohemian's to go back to the Roman Catholic Church. Other forces soon got involved in the war including Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Bohemian, and Russian. The war is considered the most destructive event before the 20th century.
