In 1517, a professor in Wittenberg, Germany wrote this document which stated the corruption of the Roman Catholic Church. Aided greatly by the newly invented printing press, this document spread throughout Europe and arose awareness of the need of a reform. Thus, the Protestant reform had begun with the publication of this document.
