1 Aug 1768 Jahr - The boycott of 1768
Beschreibung:
Most colonial leaders rejected the Townshend act and it was condemned by the colony of Massachusetts's assembly, and New York and Boston merchants started a new boycott of British goods. New England’s ministers and public officials encouraged the boycott of foreign superfluities and promoted the production of clothes and other products from the colonies. Women, who didn’t usually participate in public affairs, started to be an important part of this boycott; they reduced their family’s use of imported items by a lot.
