Sir Henry Parks stopped over in the town of Tenterfield. On the 24th of October 1889 he gave a speech suggesting the idea of Federation. Although the town didn’t have a massive population many people turned up to watch. His speech was a speech that was a memorable speech and went down in history. The idea was soon heard by the parliaments in each of the colonies at the time.
