Around 5:53 p.m., Manchester police responded to Lake Shore Road to investigate a report that a white Chevrolet truck belonging to Carl Manning had been spotted parked alongside the road. Manning was sought by police for questioning in a suspicious fire and explosion that had occurred earlier that day. Police alleged Manning was armed and shot and killed him.
