External Influence / Oil: State oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) and China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation (CPTDC) have signed an agreement for the construction of a gas pipeline that will connect with Tacoa, in Vargas state; CPTDC is a subsidiary of the state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), a company with which PDVSA has four joint ventures in the country: Petromiranda, Petrourica, Petrolera Sinovensa and Petrozumano.
