11 Nov 1951 Jahr - Peròn's re-election (with the help of some policies )
Beschreibung:
To ensure his re-election in 1951, Peròn first amended the 1853 constitution to allow for his re-election. In a way, the amendment delegitimizes Peròn's second rise to power because he took a route of bending the rule to his advantage. To add, Peròn also quickens the process through his muzzling political policies. Peròn denied his enemies access to the media to stop their message. Socialist and conservative newspapers were often closed down. In the 1951 election campaign, Radicals found they were not able to have radio time to spread support. Police were used to break up opposition rallies, and candidates jailed after a coup. A common change in ideology herein Peròn taking authoritarian measures for election.
