In 2018, Sharice Davids(D) defeated incumbent Kevin Yoder(R) to win the 3rd Federal Congressional District seat for Kansas. Davids is the second Native American, as a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, to represent Kansas on the national level, and the first openly LGBT Native American in Congress.
