One of Gondul's most treasured items to this day is his scruffy, ugly looking leather journal. He has had it since seventeen, and has written in it since nineteen.
He carries it wherever he goes — even on missions and expeditions. The only time where he did not have it on his person was during the Battle of Sancre Tor.
He would later give his journal to multiple members of the Ruby Brotherband, asking that they "add whatever they so wish" to its pages, his only request being to return it to him once finished, or to pass it on to the next Brother with the same message.
