Josiah sided with Babylon in a war with Assyria and Egypt. He met the forces of Pharaoh Necho II at Megiddo in 609BC where he was killed.

2 Kings 23:29 and 2 Chronicles 35:20-24

The battle was also recorded by Ancient Greek historian/travel writer Herodotus in his Histories, Book 2:159
