The first chapter of House of The Scorpion is called In The Beginning. In The Beginning is a reference to Genesis which is the first book of the bible. and that really fits in with the main focus of this chapter which is talking about how they clone people. Scientists use a piece of skin and develop it into a fetus and put that fetus in a cow ad that cow births a baby/clone.
