Students surrounded the campus ROTC building to protest the bombing in Cambodia, at Kent State University in Ohio. The governor of Ohio called the nation guard to combat the protest. More than 600 students had gathered, campus police told the student they had to leave because it was an unlawful assembly. The national guard shot off tear gas into the crowd to end the protest. All of the kids ran. The national guard felt threatened and began to open fire and killed 4 people.
