Host, Josh Zepps, was briefly interviewing Fox News host and contributor, Geraldo Rivera, in February of 2015. The interview was supposed to be about Rivera’s experience as a contestant on Donald Trump’s show, The Apprentice, but ended up being about Geraldo Rivera’s stance on Hip Hop music and its surrounding culture. Rivera said a slew of culturally offensive things during the interview, but the worst of all was his quote, “Hip Hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racism in the past 10 years.” In “Freedom,” a track on Beyonce’s “Lemonade,” Kendrick Lamar is a featured artist. Within his verse, he includes “Channel 9 news tell me I’m moving Backwards.” This line has been credited as nod at Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera, for sure, as Rivera mentions Lamar by name in the interview.
