The first time that I encountered this song, I read the lyrics while listening to SZA’s “Drew Barrymore,” a very somber song. I read the lyrics, wishing RIP to a number of rappers. It made me feel as though the song was sentimental. Eventually, I realized that he is wishing them well in their dead careers. Like “Nikes,” “Where Are They Now?” also utilizes “The Champ,” as a sampled beat.
