Big Ben, a large analog clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, rings out over the Houses of Parliament in England on the 31st of May in 1859 for the first time.It was initially named the Great Bell but became Big Ben in honor of the first commissioner of works, Sir Benjamin Hall.
