There was an attempt to gain a Catalan State. The right reacted by abolishing the land reform which was added via the Catalan regional government. One of the key factors the Catalans accomplished through supporting the Popular Front was the reinstatement of the Catalan agrarian reform law. Catalans believed that Spain would be more suitable together but many people were adverse to this.
