28 Jan 1930 Jahr - Primo de Rivera resigns
Beschreibung:
Primo de Rivera had been the dictator of Spain since September 1923, up until January 1930 where soon after the Second Spanish Republic would be formed. He originally became dictator due to a successful coup d'état and immediately dropped parliament and took away constitutional guarantees. Before Primo de Rivera's resignation, there had already been multiple survived overthrow attempts, and increased dislike of the current government was apparent. The army was one of the most important groups that supported him, and when they withdrew their support it prompted Rivera to have to resign. His resignation paved the way for the change in government over to the Republicans and to start the Second Spanish Republic.
