Catalonia rebellion was not well organized due to the left-wing parties not being able to cooperate with each other. However, rebellion in Austria was more successful. As a result of the Great Depression, mine owners had responded by cutting wages, increasing working hours, and firing many laborers. In response to these actions by the mine owners, many workers decided to rebel as they were apart of trade unions. They were however suppressed by General Francos troops.
