The President Zamora was replaced by Manuel Azana who belongs to the left wing. Due to this a group of Spanish army officers including Francisco Franco, Emilio Mola, Juan Yague, and a few others plotted to take down the Popular Front and retake their power in the government. After the left wing won the election right wing officials including the listed army officers decided it was time to turn to violence. This would lead to the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.
