A fragement of the Epic of Gilgamesh, a cuneiform tablet. It contains the earliest partial telling of a 'Flood Story' (the biblical version being Noah's Ark).

A version of the flood story exists in many cultures & religions, suggesting that something did happen in this part of the world.

Oldest complete copy is dated to c.1300 to 1000BC
