18 Dez 1894 Jahr - Women are given the right to vote in South Australia
Beschreibung:
Women all over the world who fought for their right to vote were known as suffragettes and, in Australia, the first state to give women the right to vote was South Australia. When this was granted, women could finally have a say in who ruled their country- and not only that, but they could run for parliament themselves. This has influenced our country greatly and, eventually, the other states followed suit in allowing female voting. It took over 20 years for the final state to pass the legislation, but it happened, and now women all over Australia are permitted to vote.
