Beschreibung:

On May 4, 1906, Booker T. Washington, American educator, author, orator, advisor to multiple presidents of the United States, and founder of Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama, came to Kansas City to assist in fundraising for Douglass Hospital. He gave a lecture at the Convention Hall in Kansas City, Mo. He was introduced by the Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. T.C. Uthank was the Surgeon in Chief for the hospital (the program for this event)
"Bishop A. Grant, who is now at the head of Douglas Hospital an who is the instigation of bringing Booker T. Washington to Kansas City. It will behoove every negro in the two cities to go and hear the great leader at Convention Hall on the 4th of May."
