The North Korean troops attacked South Korea across the 38th parallel with powerful tanks and they overtook South Korea's capital, Seoul. Not too late after this, President Harry Truman decided to aide South Korea. The United Nations Security Council approved this because they believed it would help restore peace. If the Soviets had not been boycotting Security Council sessions, then this could have been blocked. Soldiers from Japan were moved to South Korea to fight. This was the start of the Korean War.
