The present witch is born in a time when magic is starting to decline. His mother is a descendant of the Mother of Magic, and his father is unknown. She escaped a Magic community just as they were attacked by the government, pregnant with a child she believes will save magic. A coven take her in and when she dies giving bith they raise her child.
