Alan Turing's paper, "On Computable Numbers" was revolutionary to computer science, as it proposed the idea of a computer "thinking", and is often regarded as the first idea of a computer program.

Although his proposed "Turing Machine" was theoretical, it shared many traits with early computers. Turing also showed an interest in AI, and his "Turing test" was built to determine when a computer is inteligence.
