Discovered by Vine, Matthews, and Morley in 1963. Evidence that supports there claims is that The material from below the ocean ridge comes up through the ocean floor, and magnetic material comes out in a pattern (North and south). The Pattern is formed because of the magma flowing and cooling and becoming "frozen".
