My dad lives in Dubai and I call him everyday. Due to globalization, I am able to call him freely and know what he is up to. He calls me through his regular phone provider in Dubai, and thus, all the international minutes used are billed to him in Dirhams rather than Canadian dollars. This is a political factor because my dad does not need to do any currency exchanged on his own.
