First Philippines Republic chooses to object the Treaty of Paris. (Treaty of Paris is where the United States would gain possession of the Philippines from Spain, towards the end of the Spanish-American war. But because the Philippines rejected the treaty, The United States decided to violently gain the Philippines by using troops against the Filipino armies. This is an example of hard power because our government used military to gain control of the Philippines, this is also an example of Military Intervention because the militant forces of America entered the foreign country.
