Although there are a lot of sources claiming different incandescent light bulbs were invented prior, we usually address Thomas Edison or Joseph Swan as the main creators of it, since they commercially developed it.
Incandescent light bulbs were an invention that changed the world: they allowed people to live in the night, work in the night, etc.
