1 Mai 1949 Jahr - EDSAC
Beschreibung:
Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator or EDSAC was built according to the von Neumann machine principles enunciated by the Hungarian American scientist John von Neumann. It was the world's first stored-program computer to operate a regular computing service. Designed and built at Cambridge University, England, the EDSAC performed its first calculation on 6th May 1949.
Although none of us have seen EDSAC, it is still familiar since this device was mentioned several times in our Computer classes when discussing about the history of computers.
