Having lived with a "Jew" that owed him money, Boris lived off a small allowance and housing from the "Jew". Suddenly, the "Jew", a week late on rent, abandons Boris. Boris and Orwell now both become completely homeless. To survive the least bit, they sell their clothing for bread and the occasional wine.
