Throughout the 19th century puppet shows were preformed around Abbey street Dublin, with records of travelling marionette theatres to Belfast, Cork and Dublin. McCormick’s family The Babes in the Woods, was a string puppet collection shown at the beginning of the 20th century in Ireland.
