The mission of the national black feminism organization is to gain racial equality so that women of all colors can collectively make an effort to promote feminism. The importance of creating the National Black Feminist Association gave women of color a chance to voice their opinion against all the oppression that they faced. Their Statement of Purpose says the NBFO was formed "to address ourselves to the particular and specific needs of the larger, but almost cast-aside half of the black race in America, the black woman."
