1 Jan 1512 Jahr - 1518: Count of Schlick mints the first Joachimsthaler in the mining town Joachimsthal. They are slightly altered versions of the Guldengroschen, containing 25.998 grams of silver or 400.99 grains of silver. Due to their reliable silver content, they are extremely successful and widely used in European trade. International currencies after the Joachimsthaler inherit the name "Thaler".
