Ground breaking for a new campus on 72nd and State Avenue begins. Jack Flint was President of KCKCC at this time and Rex Griffin was the Dean of Business Administration. Architects Meyn and Fennel of KCKCC oversaw he project with Caudill, Rowlette and Scott architects from Houston Texas hired for interior design services, and structural engineer Lloyd Thorp, and mechanical engineering Burgess, Latimer and Miller for exterior services. A plaque is found in upper level Jewell building is dedicated to the construction of the new college.
