As Jews lived after the Babylonian empire, it was hard for them to live with the harsh Greek rule. One day however, a Jewish family Maccabees, rebelled against the Greek rulers who tried to ban important parts of Judaism. Jews still celebrate Hanukkah which is for the Maccabees that reclaimed of the Temple.
