The Torah tells about a man named Abraham, who lived around 1700 BC. His homeland was in Ur, Mesopotamia. Though one day god asked Abraham to take his family and head to the land of Canaan. Afterwards god made a binding agreement with Abraham that the land of Canaan would belong to his descendants, it was later known as Promised Land.
