- Caesar becomes dictator for life (this is kindaaa where things star changing)
• He names himself so now the romans think that he just wants to be king
• This made him enemies with his own supporters
- He also elected Pompey's friends and clients into positions of power instead of his own supporters
- He still gets honoured by the Senate because he's just too powerful at this point
- His birthday was made a national holiday
- Purple = regal colour (the romans didn't like that)
• He wore purple and gold clothing to signify his status and power
- He put his portrait in coins
• No living roman had apicture on a coin except caesar
• He also had a statue of himself made and put beside the 7 former kings
