The Southern States Union was formed between Hyderabad, Mysore and the other states which sprung up in the south following the British loss against Hindustan in the Thousand Days' War. It was in reaction to the Hindu conquest of the independent Union of Gujarat, to create a strong southern union as a defence against Hindustani aggressions.
