5 Dez 1955 Jahr - Montgomery Bus Boycott Begins

Beschreibung:

After Ms. Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving her seat to a white man, the Montgomery Bus Boycott began as a way for the African American citizens of Montgomery, Alabama to fight against segregation in public areas. It is also recognized as one of the first large-scale demonstrations against segregation. A major cause of this event would be the Brown v. Board of Education decision because it opened the African American people's eyes to the fact that they could in fact fight against segregation in a peaceful manner. All the events that happened after this event in history would be spurred on by the success in getting the African Americans the right to sit on whatever seat they want in the bus, and they certainly don't have to give up their seat to anyone else.
