40 days after the Ascension of Christ, the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Jewish believers as they gathered in the city of Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. With the Holy Spirit, they were empowered by who Jesus called "the Helper" and from there, went out into the city with boldness, preaching the Gospel and performing miracles.
