The Institute of International Education also collaborated with the U.S. government to start the Fulbright Program, which awards gifted students scholarships to conduct research abroad. Since the Fulbright Program was founded in 1946, it has produced more than 360,000 Fulbright Scholars, including 54 future Nobel Prize and 82 Pulitzer Prize winners.
