For the past two years, we have committed to the Living Local: Joining God in the Neighborhood process with seven other parishes in this diocese. We have learned and continue to learn how to get outside of our building to see what God is up to in our community. A big change of mind and heart has been that we do not expect this work to bring us new members. We now have a fledgling ministry of engaging with and supporting students at the University of Maine at Machias, which we had been trying to do for some time. We have gained so much from this process.
