20 Jan 2007 Jahr - Bush announces an escalation of troop deployment in Iraq.

Beschreibung:

Bush increased the number of troops in order to provide security to Baghdad and Al Anbar Province
Ordered 20000 plus men into Iraq
Sent most of them to Baghdad
Bushed wanted to try to stop the violence there
It was considered politically difficult.

The importance of this is that this surge failed and wasn't as successful as Bush said it was.
