In response to internal corruption and insurrection, the military takes over.

Isabela Peron's government was replaced by a military Junta that was led by Jorge Rafael Videla.

The new dictatorship found support from both the Vatican and the United States. This was a clear reactionary policy.

Soon they ensured a campaign known as Argentina's "Dirty War". This was responsible for the dissapearances of over 30,000 people. Those victims included innocents, any leftist or person with leftist sympathies, anti-military groups, and families of those who disappeared or of those who were suspected of leftism.
