Made during the three kingdoms period in the Silla Kingdom of Korea. Sila kingdom most powerful during 5th and 6th centuries. The crown was used for burial and ceremonial rites, the people practiced shamanism. The crown was shaped like a tree to represent the sacred tree which was thought of as an axis mundi. Jade discs are attached to the golden branches which symbolize fertility and abundance. Is evidence of silk road nomads and connected cultures like Japan, China, and Rome. Made from metal work of gold and jade.
