A man turned his mother in and she went to jail and was executed.
He wanted to prove that he was a real Red Guard because his mother was talking bad about Mao.
He thought if he didn’t do that, people would think their whole family thought the way their mother did.
This woman had her throat slashed and her father taken away from her.
The Cultural Revolution ended 40 years ago.
Every family had to have at least one copy of the Little Red Book.
You had to know it by heart.
